Make Some Music, Add Some Movement, and Have Some Fun!

You don't have to be a singer to lead children in music.  Whether you want to sing songs in your classroom or lead a large group "music time", there are tons of songs to let your kiddos have fun while they learn, sing, dance and play. And guess what - kids love to move!  Music and movement activities promote physical well-being and fine and gross motor development.  Plus, movement is just plain fun!  When we put music AND movement together, we get the WHOLE child caught up in the learning process.  Come ready to sing, dance, incorporate sign language into songs, and expand your comfort zone; leave fully equipped with:  song lists, easy to implement ideas for adding fun yet purposeful movement activities to songs, and renewed enthusiasm. 

Fine Motor Fun

Fine Motor Muscles involve the small muscles of the body: eyes, fingers, toes, wrists, lips and tongue.  These small muscles work with the large muscles to develop movement.  There are many simple and fun activities to enjoy with young children which encourage the development of fine motor skills.  All too often the development of these muscles is neglected as adults push children to write before their muscles are ready.  Many handwriting problems and challenges that children exhibit as they move into the primary grades can be traced back to a lack of fine motor development.  This workshop will present fun, easy, active ways to intentionally strengthen fine motor muscles in young children. 

I Like to Move It, Move It!

Kids want to move.  Kids need to move.  So let's get them moving.  The more children move,  the more they develop their growing muscles and build their coordination & balance.  Plus, movement gets the brain ready for learning.  Be prepared for an energizing preschool workout.  Come ready to dance, move, stretch, and play; leave fully equipped with easy to implement ideas for adding fun yet purposeful movement activities and a fired up excitement for moving with kids. 

Did You Say Yoga?!

That's right - yoga and preschoolers can go together.  In fact, Yoga is a wonderful for way for children to exercise their whole body.  Yoga positions help develop both fine and gross motor skills as well as enhance flexibility, muscle strength, balance and posture.  Children also build their self-confidence and self-awareness by gaining a better understanding of how their bodies work and move.  Yoga also sharpens the child's ability to focus and relax, both of which are learned-skills.
